See how the competitive side of roller skating has changed through the years.

Competition: Spirit of the Sport presents the the trials and tribulations of the sports that make up roller skating competition -- Hockey, Speed, Derby, and Artistic. For more than a century each sport has showcased the competitive spirit of its athletes. With notable figures such as Fred Murree, Gene Murray, Tara Lipinski, Apolo Ohno, and Erin Jackson, this exhibit highlights the sports just as much as is those who compete.


On permanent exhibit. Stay tuned as we update it to include Culture Roll, a new sport established in 2021 by Reggie "Premier" Brown and Darius "D-Breez" Stroud.

Enriching the experience of skaters and non-skaters alike, by increasing appreciation for the accomplishments and rich history of roller skating.
