Lincoln, NE – The National Museum of Roller Skating, the only museum in the world dedicated to roller skating, announces new board leadership and three newly elected members. Appointed as NMRS's incoming Board of Trustees President is Ed Hughes. Hughes, the owner of Northland Rolladium Skate Center, Liberty, Missouri. Hughes said, "I appreciate the board and the membership putting their faith in me. I am excited for all of the competitive skaters visiting Lincoln this summer for the National Championship to explore and enjoy our little gem. I've always been a history buff, and I'm truly grateful that I'm in a position to share the history of our sport and industry with everyone who visits."
In addition, the Museum Board announced the following officer appointments: Cort Wahlig, as Vice President (2026-2029), and Tina Robertson, as Treasurer (2026-2029).
Peggy Young was reelected as Secretary (2026-2029). In addition to these appointments, the NMRS board of Trustees welcomes three new members who will serve three-year terms beginning this May. ” The incoming board members are:
Adrienne Van Houten, Manager at Moonlight Roller Rink in Glendale, California.
John Peck, Lynwood Sports Center, Lynwood, Illinois. Rink operator and USARS coach.
Frank Torries, Fun Nation, Lafayette, Louisiana. Rink owner and operator.
See the full list of the NMRS’s board of trustees. The Museum is grateful to William "Bill" Hoefler, Dominic Cangelosi, and Jim Link, whose service ended this year. Bill voluntarily stepped down from the board. His leadership has been instrumental in fulfilling the NMRS’s mission and strategic goals.
